Qatar Prometric exam: choose your profession

QCHP is now the Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) in Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health. Prometric runs the exam under programme SCHQ2.
Choose your profession
- QCHP exam for nurses: Registered General Nurse: 50% to pass. Adult nursing has 61 questions.
- QCHP exam for pharmacists: Pharmacist: 60% to pass. Use the national blueprint from 1 May 2025.
- QCHP exam for dentists: General Dentist: 60% to pass. Use the national blueprint from 17 June 2025.
- QCHP exam for doctors: General Practitioner: 60% to pass. Paediatrics and women’s health together have 73 questions.
Who needs the QCHP exam
DHP covers government and private healthcare in Qatar. Your exam pass goes into your application for evaluation. You need a separate licence before you work.
How the QCHP exam works
Each main paper has 150 multiple-choice questions, its own topics and a book list (DHP exam page). Choose the paper for the job you will do.

Frequently asked questions
Is QCHP the same as DHP?
Yes. DHP replaced QCHP in February 2019 under Emiri decree no. 14 (DHP history).
Which Qatar profession page should you use?
Use the scope on your DHP application. We cover GPs, general dentists, registered general nurses and pharmacists.
Is the Qatar paper the same for every profession?
Each paper tests different topics. Nurses need 50% to pass. GPs, general dentists and pharmacists need 60% (DHP exam page).
