Get the report and submit it

We did not find an official time for the first NHRA result or details of what the report shows. If yours is missing, ask Prometric through its NHRA page. For problems sending it through Mehan, ask your profession’s NHRA contact.

After a pass, finish your licence steps

After passing, complete your licence file. For non-Bahraini applicants, NHRA sends a letter to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA). Then provide your CPR (Bahrain ID card) and Bahrain health fitness certificate. Final approval, payment and the licence follow (application guide). Use NHRA licence steps before starting work.

If you fail, send the file again

  1. In Mehan, select Modify and open Attachment (Mehan FAQ).
  2. Add your failed report and send the file again (Mehan FAQ).
  3. Wait for NHRA to restore your code. It can ask for more documents (Mehan FAQ).
  4. Then book again. The old code was for 1 attempt (exam booklet). Check the price in NHRA fees and booking.

You get 4 attempts in a row within 3 years of the first (exam booklet). The booklet gives no fixed wait between attempts. NHRA must still restore the code; this does not happen on its own.

Check the rules after your fourth fail

The exam booklet limits this retraining route to Bahrainis after 4 failures. Complete at least 6 months in a licensed Bahrain facility and submit proof. NHRA may then permit 2 more attempts within 2 years after you finish retraining.

Doctors must train in general surgery, internal medicine, paediatrics, and obstetrics and gynaecology. These placements must total at least 4 months (exam booklet).

Prometric’s NHRA page describes extra training and attempts without the Bahraini-only rule. The nursing rules give 6 attempts in total and retraining without that limit. If you are non-Bahraini, get NHRA’s answer in writing before you rely on a fifth attempt.

Check a disputed nursing result

NHRA’s booklet sets 50% for nursing, midwifery and allied health. Prometric gives 60% for all Bahrain exams. If your nursing score falls between these, ask NHRA in writing before you assume a pass or fail.

We did not find an official NHRA result appeal or rescoring process. Ask your profession’s NHRA contact what review you can request.

Frequently asked questions

Does a pass let you start work?

Finish final approval and pay for the licence before you start work (application guide). A pass is part of your licence file.

Can you rebook with the code you already used?

No. A code covers 1 attempt (exam booklet). Send the failed report through Mehan and wait for NHRA to restore the code.

Can a non-Bahraini rely on the retraining route?

Get NHRA’s answer in writing for your profession first. Its exam booklet lets only Bahrainis use this route. Other documents leave out that limit.
