Who needs the SCFHS / SMLE exam

The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) sets your title and grade to work in Saudi Arabia. Its licensing exams form part of that process. Prometric runs the exams.

You can apply for classification from abroad. To register and practise, you need to live legally in Saudi Arabia.

How the SCFHS / SMLE exam works

Each paper has 200 questions in 2 parts of 100. Each part lasts 120 minutes, with a 30-minute break.

Which Saudi paper should you choose?

Use the paper on your permit: SMLE, SNLE, SPLE or SDLE.

Can a diploma nurse book the SNLE?

Ask SCFHS which title fits your diploma before you pay. The SNLE guide lists a nursing degree and student or intern routes.

Is passing the exam enough to practise in Saudi Arabia?

You also need SCFHS classification and registration. To register, you must live legally in Saudi Arabia. It lasts 2 years (Mumaris FAQ).
