What the paper covers
We did not find published section weights for the MOHAP paper for dentists. ProMCQ's mock papers use the published Qatar DHP blueprint for dentists as practice targets. These are not MOHAP's own weights. Each mock includes national-topic content, so its final question shares can differ slightly from these targets.

Sample questions
These are eight original ProMCQ practice questions with explanations. We did not find an official format for your paper. Select an answer to see the explanation.
A 26-month-old child is approaching completion of primary tooth eruption. Which tooth group is usually the last to erupt?
- Other primary incisors
- Primary second molars
- Primary first molars
- Primary canines
Answer
B. Second primary molars usually erupt last, typically at about 23–33 months, as the primary dentition approaches completion.
An anxious child has an accessible carious lesion in a field clinic where a rotary handpiece is unavailable. Which excavation-and-restoration approach defines Atraumatic Restorative Treatment?
- Rotary excavation followed by placement of resin composite
- Rotary excavation followed by placement of conventional GIC
- Hand excavation followed by placement of resin composite
- Hand excavation followed by placement of conventional GIC
Answer
D. ART removes caries with hand instruments only and restores the accessible lesion with GIC. The absence of a rotary handpiece makes it useful in field care and for anxious or uncooperative patients.
Plaque is not visible to the naked eye on a tooth surface, but a thin film is detected by running a probe across it. What Silness-Löe Plaque Index score should be assigned?
- Score 0
- Score 2
- Score 1
- Score 3
Answer
C. A nonvisible plaque film detected only by running a probe across the surface is scored 1.
A patient is being examined for suspected degenerative or osteoarthritic change of a temporomandibular joint. Which sound during repeated opening and closing most strongly supports this suspicion?
- A rough grating or gravel-like crepitus
- A discrete click occurring only on opening
- An opening click followed by a closing click
- No joint sound with tenderness over the masseter
Answer
A. Degenerative articular surfaces produce a rough grating, crackling, or gravel-like sound termed crepitus rather than one discrete event.
An edentulous patient's preliminary impression has produced a diagnostic cast, and a custom tray has been fabricated. Which procedure should be performed next to record the full functional denture-bearing area and border form?
- Establish the vertical dimension and record centric relation
- Assess esthetics, phonetics, occlusion, and vertical dimension at try-in
- Deliver the denture and adjust occlusion and pressure spots
- Border mold the custom tray and make the definitive impression
Answer
D. After the preliminary impression and custom-tray fabrication, the definitive impression is made in the border-molded custom tray. This captures the full functional denture-bearing area and border form needed for retention and stability.
The chair is being adjusted for standard mandibular extraction work. How should the mandibular occlusal plane be oriented relative to the floor and operator?
- About 60° to the floor, roughly at the operator's elbow level.
- Parallel to the floor, well above the operator's elbow level.
- About 60° to the floor, well below the operator's elbow level.
- Parallel to the floor, roughly at the operator's elbow level.
Answer
D. For mandibular extractions, the mandibular occlusal plane is kept parallel to the floor and roughly at the operator's elbow level.
A 14-year-old has a restorable complicated crown fracture of a permanent incisor. The apex is closed, the exposure is recent, and the remaining pulp is vital. Which treatment is preferred?
- Full coronal pulpotomy with a bioceramic dressing
- Pulpectomy followed by conventional root-canal treatment
- Cvek partial pulpotomy with a bioceramic dressing
- Direct coverage without removing superficial pulp tissue
Answer
C. Cvek partial pulpotomy is the preferred conservative treatment for a recent traumatic exposure with a vital pulp, regardless of whether the apex is open or closed. About 1–3 mm or more as needed to reach healthy tissue is removed before a calcium hydroxide or bioceramic dressing and a well-sealed restoration are placed.
A 30-year-old woman has just bought a new soft manual toothbrush. She asks how often she should buy another one if the filaments stay straight and unfrayed. What routine replacement interval should be advised?
- Every 1 month
- Every 3–4 months
- Every 6–9 months
- Every 12 months
Answer
B. The routine advice is to replace a toothbrush every 3–4 months, and sooner if wear appears. Wear rate, not age, drives loss of efficacy, so the interval carries little clinical proof. It remains the standard advice when no wear is visible.
