- For Registered Nurse, you need a nursing bachelor’s from at least 3 years of full-time study. No minimum work experience; practice-gap rules apply. Nurses need BLS.
- A nursing diploma of at least 18 months leads to Assistant Nurse. You work under a registered nurse. No minimum experience; practice-gap rules apply.
- Distance and correspondence nursing awards do not count. Check your assigned title before booking.
- NCLEX or a listed-country licence can exempt you. Country, recent practice and English conditions apply; you still need verification and activation.

What the paper covers
We did not find published section weights for the DHA paper for nurses. ProMCQ's mock papers use the published Qatar DHP blueprint for nurses as practice targets. These are not DHA's own weights. Each mock includes national-topic content, so its final question shares can differ slightly from these targets.
- Nursing Fundamentals (20%): Revise basic nursing care and assessment. Give medicines safely and prevent infection. Learn which step comes first and which findings are abnormal.
- Adult Nursing (40.7%): Care for adults before and after surgery. Spot a patient getting worse and revise chronic disease care. Keep drug use safe.
- Maternal-Child Nursing (29.3%): Care for mothers before and after birth, newborns and sick children.
- Unit Management and Leadership (10%): Lead a unit and manage its staff. Revise who can do each task, handover and incident reports.
Sample questions
Eight original practice questions from the DHA nurses bank. They are written to the paper's style, not taken from the live exam. Pick an answer to see the key and explanation.
A client with a newly removed kidney stone asks whether everyone with nephrolithiasis should eliminate dietary calcium. It would be most important for the nurse to do which of the following?
- Use overall stone prevalence alone
- Use stone analysis to tailor diet
- Recommend routine dietary calcium elimination
- Postpone broad hydration pending analysis
Answer
B. Stone composition should be assessed before providing stone-specific dietary advice. Although calcium oxalate is the most common type overall, the nurse should tailor this client's diet to the analyzed stone rather than recommend calcium elimination to everyone.
Nurse Omar explains to a 67-year-old housebound man that, unlike most vitamins, vitamin D can be made by his own body rather than only eaten. Which trigger starts this endogenous vitamin D production?
- Fatty fish in the diet
- Fortified dairy in the diet
- UVB exposure of the skin
- Whole-grain cereals in the diet
Answer
C. Vitamin D is synthesised in the skin when it is exposed to UVB. Food sources such as fatty fish, fish-liver oils and fortified foods add dietary vitamin D but are not the trigger for endogenous production. Sun-exposure teaching follows public-health advice on safe exposure and skin protection.
A 31-year-old woman with anovulatory infertility is on day 4 of oral clomiphene citrate. She telephones the clinic reporting blurred vision and flashes of light but denies abdominal pain, distension, weight gain or dyspnea. Which instruction should the nurse give the client?
- Continue the current clomiphene cycle
- Hold clomiphene pending pregnancy test
- Attend for ovarian hyperstimulation assessment
- Stop clomiphene; prompt full eye evaluation
Answer
D. Visual symptoms during clomiphene therapy are a stop signal: the client should discontinue clomiphene and obtain a prompt complete ophthalmologic evaluation. She has no features of ovarian enlargement or hyperstimulation, and there is no evidence of pregnancy, so the other responses do not address her symptom.
A pregnant client has a first blood pressure reading of 164/108 mmHg and no prior severe-range measurement. Which action should the nurse take first?
- Begin a detailed neurologic assessment.
- Repeat the blood pressure promptly.
- Start indicated fetal surveillance.
- Document the reading and response.
Answer
B. A first severe-range reading should be rechecked promptly to establish whether it is sustained and requires emergency escalation.
A 68-year-old man recovering from surgery tells the nurse, “My family never hears what I need,” and starts describing how upset he feels. Which reply by the nurse is most therapeutic?
- “You should write your needs down for them.”
- “Your family will understand you soon.”
- “Let's review your discharge plan now.”
- “Your family never hears your needs? Go on.”
Answer
D. Restating repeats the patient's main words to show listening, and inviting him to continue keeps the exploration patient-led.
Which profile describes compromising?
- High assertion and low cooperation
- Low assertion and low cooperation
- Moderate assertion and cooperation
- High assertion and high cooperation
Answer
C. Compromising is moderate in both assertiveness and cooperation because each party gives up something to reach an acceptable middle ground.
A 35-year-old woman, an emergency nurse, started prescribed HIV PEP after a used-needle injury while source results were pending. On day 3, the source patient tests HIV negative, and recent source infection is not suspected. What should occupational health nurse Huda advise regarding this patient's PEP?
- Stop HIV PEP; no further HIV follow-up needed
- Complete the full 28-day course
- Continue because PEP began appropriately
- Continue until HCV RNA follow-up ends
Answer
A. PEP is started without waiting for source results. If the source later tests HIV negative and recent infection in the source is not suspected, HIV PEP can be stopped and HIV follow-up for this exposure discontinued. Assessment and follow-up for other exposure risks remain separate.
An 83-year-old woman enrolled in the U.S. Medicare hospice benefit for end-stage dementia is alive 7 months after enrolment. Her daughter asks the nurse whether hospice will now end. Which factor determines whether she remains eligible?
- Her continuing prognosis at recertification
- Reaching the six-month enrolment limit
- Documented decline at every review
- A “No” surprise-question response
Answer
A. U.S. Medicare hospice recertification depends on the continuing prognosis, not mandatory decline at every review; survival beyond 6 months does not end eligibility.

How to prepare
- Our suggested approach: name the patient at greatest risk before choosing your first action.
- Practise infusion rates, weight-based doses and paediatric doses.
- Revise all 4 outline areas, including leadership and management.
- Use timed mocks to find gaps. A mock score does not predict a DHA pass.
