Prometric exam day: what to bring, the rules and what comes after

By the ProMCQ Editorial Team

Bring the ID your board asks for. Its name must match your booking. Check when to arrive and which breaks your paper allows.

Check your booking before travelling

Fix any name mismatch before exam day. Keep your booking email and number. Read the board’s fees and booking guide if you need to change the date.

Expect security checks

Prometric staff check your ID, pockets and glasses. They use a metal detector. You cannot take unapproved devices, notes, books, food or drinks into the room. Your board can set exceptions.

At DOH’s Pearson VUE centres, staff take your photo and signature. Your things go in a locker. Phones, books, food, medicines and pens cannot go into the room.

DOH gives a standard calculator on screen. You get no handheld calculator or paper. For other papers, check the board’s rules. A demo does not confirm the tools.

Know what happens during a break

At Prometric, the board sets the breaks. Sign out and ask staff before opening your locker. Staff check your ID and security again when you return.

Saudi papers have a planned 30-minute break. Other breaks use exam time. DOH breaks use exam time too. Do not assume the clock stops.

DHA’s time includes check-in. Qatar’s time sources differ. Kuwait’s wording leaves its break unclear. Check your paper’s format and booking email.

Keep results and exam content separate

Check your board’s result route after you leave. DHA’s learning-outcome letter shows strong and weak areas. The official result is in Sheryan.

Do not copy or share exam questions. SCFHS bans building them from memory. Read exam-content and scam warnings.

Frequently asked questions

How early should you arrive at the test centre?

DHA, Qatar, DOH and OMSB require arrival 30 minutes early. Check other programmes’ confirmations. DOH may refuse entry at 15 minutes late; OMSB says more than 15 minutes.

Can you take a break during the exam?

Follow your board’s allowance. Prometric requires sign-out and security checks on return. Saudi unplanned breaks and DOH breaks use exam time.

Is a calculator allowed in the exam?

DOH provides a standard onscreen calculator. You get no handheld calculator or paper. Check your own programme’s instructions before bringing any equipment.
